  1. Arranged marriages are still an issue in cultures now, and whenever I see it, it breaks my heart. Why would you want to be legally bound to someone that you don't know and that could make you unhappy? I wouldn't want to take that chance.

  2. I would not want to be matched under any circumstance. I think people should have the right to choose who they fall in love with and who they marry. Two people may have the same values and interests but not be attracted to one another. I think matching is good as advice only for people who want it, but in the end every person should be able to make the decision for themselves.

  3. If I were living in the Society (as the question specified) I would absolutely be Matched. I think generally speaking, the Society did a good job of Matching people (they picked Cassia and Xander, after all, and they would/could be a good Match). The only opportunity for becoming a mother came to those who chose to be Matched, so I would definitely take that risk. However, in our world, I would never choose that. As wonderful as two people may seem for each other on paper, there's something exciting about attraction and it's not something you can predict.

  4. I would not want to get Matched because to me that just reminds me of when people used to have arranged marriages and I would not want that for me. No one can know who you should be with, it's your heart that will make a decision.

  5. If I lived in Cassia's world, Yes. I think it's horrible, but that's all you would know. Another thing to remember is that the people who were matched, we're happy. I don't think they loved each other with a reckless abandon, or anything like that, but they were happy. That was part of the matching process, which is great, because it really does make you think about how horrible it is, or isn't.

    1. THIS. That is all. It all depends on where you live. In this society, most of us wouldn't but living in that society, yes.

  6. Hmmm... I've not read these novels. The covers are quite unique though.

  7. I would TOTALLY be Matched. To be honest, I kind of wish that it was an option now. Someone is willing to spend hours matching me with someone who will make me happy? I'm sold! What I DON'T like about being matched is that you have to follow their exact time table. I'm fine with someone finding me my perfect match (dating is HARD!) but I want to then move the relationship forward at my own pace.

  8. I would choose to be Matched, since the other option in the Society is being single for life. Marriage and family are important to me, and in the setting of these books you are matched with someone you should, at least in theory, be compatible with. So I would take the chance it would work out and go for it! (And even in real life, where you pick your own spouse, marriage and parenting take work to be successful! :) These are really thought-provoking questions

  9. I would choose to get Matched because if I wasn't allowed to choose for myself I would like the best possible choice made for me. If statistically it should work and I cant choose myself, then I think it's better to be matched with some one than no one. Life is meant to be shared, share it with someone you can atleast get along with

  10. Iwould like to be matched. There's such a mystery in not knowing who you would be with. But even more fun would be one of the people who gets to coose who is matched with who. I would take that job in a heartbeat!

  11. No, heck no. No one knows who's my best match but me and only me. I would choose to be --ah, what did they call it? I forgot, sorry!!-- a loner instead of having this "perfect" life and I agree with Nicole! Arranged marriages happen today and it's messed up. Everyone should have a fair shot in finding love but being Matched also has it's advantages. It's your MATCH, how would any deny that easy life? And that's exactly why I don't want to be. It's easy. Life is suppose to be long and complicated journey for everyone. Not easy.
